# of students in Majors

An equal number of Female and Male students are in IBM and MKT major, while a slightly higher number of Female students is present in Com Art major and IHM major

Given the relatively small data set, no other majors showed very significant differences in enrollment by gender

Other Major

What we have encountered in this chart is that female students are more willing to risk and take majors in Stamford that are less common such as Airline Industry etc...

Students in Different Majors

The students in "other majors" and "MKT students" are quite evenly spread between year 1, year 2 and year 3 students. However, the students in IBM have been rising recently as most students are in year 1, while the same case is with IHM students as the majority is in the 1st year and there is no 2nd year students in IHM

Given the relatively small data set, no other majors showed very significant differences in enrollment by students

Why this Major???

Why students chose the Major is a really interesting question. The more interesting one is whether they will continue working in the same field upon graduation. Most students upon graduating from high school are not 100% sure with what they want to do in their life. This also tends to be normal as they are only 17-18 when they start studying in University. Some students pick major for different reasons and they include:

1) career
2) parents
3) interesting
4) friends
5) others

The answers to this question give us an idea of whether teenagers are self influenced or influenced by others, family, friends and parents in this case.

STAMFORD For Masters

Students were asked whether they would be willing to pursue their masters or higher degree courses in Stamford offered, and surprisingly around 50% declared yes, which states that a bigger part of the students are satisfied on what Stamford offers.

As the President of Stamford "Dr. Boonmark Sirinaovakul" would say:

In today’s workplaces, demand for highly skilled talent who will make a valuable contribution to the increasingly globalized economy is increasing. With the increasingly globalized economy and the impending establishment of Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, employers are seeking graduates with the skills that will allow them to compete in an international arena.
Stamford International University provides a cross-cultural, international environment, with exposure and opportunities to develop real-world work skills and is preparing students for successful lives and careers. Stamford international University is focused on providing opportunities that enable students to develop proficient English, cross-cultural communication skills and an international perspective - all of which are in high demand as Thailand prepares for the AEC in 2015 and for the world.
